Crochet is my therapy. There is something very satisfying about taking a fresh skein of yarn, working your fingers for a long time, and then ending with a physical, completed item that can bring you or someone else joy. Because in motherhood, you can work and work and work, and still end up with stickers stuck to the backside of your jeans, or clean up someone else’s poop, or have too many comments from people at the grocery store about your nap-worthy toddler. It’s hard to see progress in motherhood sometimes.
And so I crochet. But I occasionally knit. And I do love a good sewing project. So when I was hammering out names for my products, I knew it needed to deal with yarn, but not be restricted to one craft. And I’ve always had a thing for tugboats (don’t ask me why because I have no idea). If you’re a fellow Yarnie or Craftastic Person, here’s some stuff to check out:
So this is my gig. I make stuff, I slap the label of Tugboat Yarning on it, and then you puzzle out why I did that because I have better things to do than theorize my own creative process. I hope you enjoy and can share in the fun.
